City Girl. Country Roads

First of all, I would like to preface this blog with the statement that I love to talk. As many of you know I am serving Mississippi State as an Orientation Leader this summer , and as one of my session 3 kids kindly pointed out to me, "Do you talk a lot when you get nervous ? Because you just kept going on and on up there."  NO. little girl. I just like to talk and some one has to do it. So, with that being said ...

This weekend we are on a 4 day break from Orientation sessions so a few of us went to Daniel's house in Aberdeen for dinner last night. Saying it was amazing is an UNDERSTATEMENT. His mother, Lynn, as I like to call her, is a caterer and a phenomenal cook. She has spoiled my taste buds (and my waist line) for life. We had a 4 course meal.

1. Dips: Enchilada and Corn dip served with frito chips
2. Breads: Mexican Corn bread, Regular Corn bread, & Sister Shubert Rolls
3. Main Course: Sweet Corn, Purple Hull Peas, Lima Beans, Squash, Homemade Chicken Nuggets, Mashed Potatoes
4. Dessert: (unbutton your pants for this one!) Chocolate Cake, Caramel Cake, Peach Cobbler all served with a side of Blue Bell Vanilla Ice Cream

We were stuffed!!!

After dinner and getting rolled out the door we went for a tour around Fisher Farms, LLC. I'll show you around. It was a great time!

I was out of my league! Definitely NOT in Meridian anymore!

Daniel even taught Jake how to drive the HUGE John Deere Tractor equipment .... this equipment takes a whole tanker full of gasoline to use which is about $40,000 !!! Who know farming was so expensive??? (I am so naive)
We were all having a grand time together ..  (not pictured Margaret Claire & Bailey Owens )

And then something magical happened .... !!!!

WE'RE ENGAGED!!!!!! BRYAN FINALLY TOLD ME HOW HE FELT ABOUT ME!!!!

....... okay, just kidding . But admit it, I had you for a second. And, If he would have really meant it and the diamond would have been real it would have been a perfect spot to have a proposal on this beautiful farm land of God's creation!

NOW this fun began. We (and I mean me) got better aquanted with the animals of the farm ... the cows. I have never been to a farm like this before so it was all new to me. I am so curious and I just wanted to jump right in and Daniel's father, Mr. David, had to stop me so I wouldn't get trampled. We did get to feed the Cows but not exactly how I was imagining , like out of my hand ... maybe next visit !!

So I hope that you enjoyed the trip to the country ! Next time, maybe I will walk you through a day of Orientation! Have a blessed Father's day with you family!

XOXO - LC
